ASUA Yellow Card Program

ASUA YELLOW CARD

A Yellow Card serves as a formal warning. When issued, it indicates that unacceptable conduct has occurred and that continued behavior may lead to further disciplinary action, including ejection. All yellow card incidents will have a formal report sent into the ASUA and umpire zone.

Key objectives of the program include:

  • Supporting umpires in managing game situations confidently and consistently

  • Encouraging respectful communication between teams and officials

  • Reducing incidents of harassment, abuse, or intimidation toward umpires

  • Creating a safer and more positive game environment for everyone involved

Associations are asked to help communicate this program to coaches, teams, and spectators prior to the start of the season so that all participants understand the expectations for behavior at our games.

Education and awareness are essential to the success of this initiative. By working together, we can ensure softball remains a respectful and enjoyable experience for players, coaches, officials, and fans alike.

Thank you for your continued support of our umpire community and for helping uphold the standards of our game.

Sincerely,

Terry Richter
