Mission and Vision Statements

 

Vision: Calgary Minor Softball is committed to providing a successful youth fastpitch program.


Mission: To build a successful program, we will:

 

  • Govern and Coordinate Calgary Minor Softball Programs

  • Incorporate the principles of (CS4L) Canadian Sport for Life and (LTPD) Long Term Player Development

  • Promote lifelong

 The Calgary Minor Softball Association Executive and Board of Directors are dedicated to offering a balanced competition by providing a safe and positive experience for all.  Our focus is to provide a competitive, safe and abuse free sporting experience to all players in Calgary and Greater Calgary area through our Competitive and Developmental streams. We extend this commitment to all coaches, team, Club and League representatives, umpires, and staff.  We foster and value positive player, parent, volunteer, Umpires, and supporter experiences. 

 Fair play is a virtue of rule adherence whereby players and athletes abide by the rules of competition. It is also a commitment to contest in a good spirit and encourage a good attitude towards sport that includes respect, modesty, generosity, and friendship. 

 

 Calgary Minor Softball was Established in 1970

Our Clubs offer programs for female players for ages 4 - 19 and males for ages 4 - 7. 

We offer competitive through developmental levels of play in each age category.

CMSU (Calgary Minor Softball Umpires)

NCCP Certification for coaches

Accommodate appropriate level of play in all categories

All teams qualify for City Championships and are placed according to season statistics to ensure right level competition in championships

Mentoring programs

Participation in Softball Alberta sanctioned tournaments

Affiliations: Softball Alberta, Softball Canada, Sport Calgary, Volunteer Alberta

 

Club Programs

The Club programs are the heart and soul of Calgary Minor Softball. Each Club is responsible for the administration of their softball program to ensure participants and their families have a positive and rewarding experience. The following is a list of age divisions offered.

U9                   as of January 1st of current year

U11                 as of January 1st of current year

U13                 as of January 1st of current year

U15                 as of January 1st of current year

U17                 as of January 1st of current year

U19                 as of January 1st of current year

 

Calgary Minor Softball Umpires (CMSU)

Calgary Minor Softball Umpires Association whose mandate is to provide qualified umpires for the Calgary Minor Fastpitch Softball community under the umbrella of Calgary Minor Softball. Calgary Minor Umpires provides umpires for tournaments throughout Alberta, Western Canada and Nationally. Calgary Minor Umpires regularly send umpires to the Alberta Summer Games, Alberta Provincial Championships, Western Canadian Championships and the Canadian National Championships. Our umpires are respected throughout the country as some of the most qualified and best trained umpires.
