 City Championship Rules

We hope you had a great, fun season! Congratulations to all teams!

  • All teams play in the City Championships, games are a double knockout format.

  • Coaches need to communicate with each other about diamond locations.  The Community Diamond will be supplied by the highest Seeded team - if not at Vista Heights.

  • The highest Seeded team will have the CHOICE of home or away in all games except the Final and If Necessary game. In the Final game, the team on the top of the bracket will have choice of home or away. In the If Necessary game, home or away will be determined by a coin toss. 

  • The highest Seeded team will supply the umpire for the Tuesday, Thursday and Friday games or email umpirerequest@calgaryminorsoftball.com for a cash game ($40.00 at the plate).  Saturday games should have an umpire scheduled.  

  • Teams playing in City Championships must do so with only their registered players.  Exceptions (Affiliated Player’s) must be approved by the league.

  • ​​Players must play at least three league games within Calgary Minor Softball before they can participate in City Championships.

  • Do not have kids playing who are not on your registered roster, all players MUST be on your roster OR approved by the league. 

  • Scores MUST be submitted immediately after your games - within 1/2 hour of the end of your game!  Email your scores to U10@calgaryminorsoftball.com

  • After each game players must sign the Record of Play form provided to coaches (City Championship Record of Play Form), failure to do so could result in forfeiture of the game. 

  •  You will be handing in your score sheets and Record of Play at City Championships, the score sheet will need to be filled in fully – team names (district team name), home and away, date, diamond played at etc.  First and Last names on the score sheet.

  •  All sheets from the City Championships will be handed in on Saturday at Vista Heights at the tournament headquarters.

  • Games are 1 hour and 30 minutes, no new innings to start after this time. 

  • 4 runs per inning maximum with no open inning.

  • ​Games cannot end in a tie - international tie breaker rule will be used. As per page 33, Rule 13.4.2 of the Calgary Minor Softball Rulebook.

  • In the event that weather conditions prevent a playoff final game from being completed, Calgary Minor Softball will set the date and time for a make up game.

  • Saturday games will be played at Vista Heights Diamonds 1616 – 27 Avenue NE
